Looking at this scene it’s hard to believe the temperatures reach up into the mid 50’s some days in the pit greenhouse. This is my wonderful winter escape as the house grows smaller with the growing teenagers needing more and more space.

It went down to minus 7 degrees Sunday night. This being the second full winter for the pit greenhouse, I’m still in a learning curve. The herbs and salad greens all survived!
