Hope this finds you well. Its time for me to focus on my blog.
After much soul searching due to the forced life transformation ( a good thing), I’m back here at this blog to begin again!
The blog transformation will take a couple months as I settle in with an old/new space. Since the fall of 2010 life has taken on a totally different spin forcing life transforming events. I am happy to share that peace set in (almost immediately) and there is much, much to share in the way of my new location and life events over the past couple of years…
… new farm garden studio with lots of room for creating, a class space for you with great lighting, many weddings have taken place I need to share here, new farm gardens, a low tunnel going upright now for earlier spring blooms, a veranda needed to be prepped for the Farm Color Tour coming Oct. 12 & 13, chickens centrally located for a bit of chicken TV, happy dogs and kitty

and realize I’m becoming a vegan. Well sort of.
Spider webbing thoughts to follow….The moving of display stuff about is like a hobby of mine. Note to self; need to let go of. Its too much work and its time for me to produce my art and focus on the florals. I find I’m tired. Worn out need substance. The “My Man” cookie (I know dumb name) I ate earlier just wasn’t getting it anymore, so into the kitchen I trudge, open the fridge, push things about finding leftovers of rice and beans made for last night’s dinner. The garlic, cumin and onion have had an evening to rest in the veggies spreading the flavor throughout. But something warm and green sounds good. GREEN SMOOTHIE soup the best! (Thanks Jill for a life changing recipe) pull out my blender, its nice glass vintage machine (a gift from my friend Mike, Thanks Mike! I love it) that does a great job for blending up vegetables for such a purpose as this. I throw in romaine lettuce, frozen Kale, three celery stalks, two cloves of garlic, 1/4 of an onion, three small carrots, fresh thyme and a teaspoon of cayenne pepper. Blended it up, poured it into the pot to warm just a tad, not wanting to kill all the good stuff with the heat. Beans & Rice along with a bowl of Green Smoothie soup. A few corn chips its all good! I still eat a good steak now and then but rarely. It has surprised me as to how much I have gotten away from eating meat, poultry… but then a good BLT is always on my list of favorites. Eating this way has helped me to loose 50 pounds in two and half years. I’m sure stress aided in this too, But I feel great, tons of energy. Drive and passion for my life and business are strong. Well I’m off now its 5:00 pm time for my glass of wine and finish up moving those displays.
Here’s the recipe for My Man Cookies to hold you over between green smoothies…
4 sticks of butter
2c. white sugar
2 c. brown sugar
2 Tbsp. vanilla
4 c. flour
2 Tbsp. baking soda
2 Tbsp baking powder
2 tea. salt
4 c. quick cook oatmeal
2 c. coconut
2 c. pecans chopped (walnuts work well too)
Cream butter with sugars, then add eggs and vanilla, Cream till fluffy, Combine flour, soda, baking powder and salt; blend into sugar mixture. Add oatmeal and mix, then blend in coconut and nuts, Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees, do not over bake.
Sorry no pictures of finished product, all gone
I am seeking local growers of botanicals! Are you one? Do you know of one? Perhaps a neighbor who grows amazing dahlias, crazy amounts of peonies in June?
It is my goal to offer locally organically grow floral designs. I have been and will continue to use sustainable organic growing methods. The blooms are hardier and last much longer than the average florist blooms. The flowers that are locally farm grown are much more vibrant in color, offering a more creative floral design. So I am seeking local growers to help add to the mix.
My new floral studio is now up and running! I’m excited to share that orders have come in from out of state for local delivery. I believe its about time we embrace not only local foods but local flower as well.

Today I had a lovely visit from one of my dearest friends, Constance G. We sat on my porch, sipped pink lemonade and enjoyed each others company for hours. Constance has been a “constant ” support in my life for several years now.. since our kids James and Leo played together in elementary. Everyone should be so blessed with such a friend.
Before Connie left for home we picked flowers in my first flower garden here. What a blessing to me to share from my ground, my beginning ‘anew’ flower farm. I’m finding the rebuilding of my new life and flower farm to be energizing. I’m gonna be ok!
There’s something about God’s beauty that is so healing. Its something to celebrate at each moment possible. Its everywhere you look. I hope you take time to experience His beauty. In your children you’ve been blessed with, in the trees that surround your home, the laughter of your spouse, your health, your healing… Its all from Him. May God Bless you with a renewed life of peace and joy. Know that I keep you my readers in serious prayer. Its not what you’ve done in the past , its what your going to do in the future, Love you! 100 foot greenhouse coming down
keeping us company as we tear down to up-cycle this greenhouse… Queen Ann’s Lace, my summer favorite
This summer ” Queen” has been an inspiration since my childhood, I spent a tremendous amount of time roaming the fields picking wild flowers
His amazing hand is everywhere….. wishing you Peace
It was a love letter to me from my husband at the time. I wept each time I went in there for weeks as the action of building it for me WAS truly a love letter to me, his wife.
The lessons learned in there, the conversations with family and friends, the hours of fellowship with my Lord as I planted and weeded… it was a personal space of mine that brought great learning on many levels. But as they say one thing is for sure change will come. I prayed for change but never expected the one that came. I had hoped for a coming together of minds as a family. BUT as God would have it He answered prayer in His way, due to free will of others not being of same thought….
I am now making plans to rebuild the sun pit greenhouse on my own homestead of 2.5 acres. Finding out about family, friends and tools along with my own abilities to learn how to lean on both for help as I take down the 100 ft. greenhouse from its current location to bring here.
Life is very different now. There are still life distractions but not the dysfunctional ones as before. The mountains on my to list are frightening at times BUT after saying my prayers there’s a peace that shows up , knowing I am not alone in this project of life and things are getting checked off that list. Many times in amazing speed and ease. That’s God’s grace showing up!
God bless your day as you go seeking change for your own life circumstances. Know God has a plan and it may surprise you. Know you’re never alone even when you’re in the darkest of times. Thru Jesus , He’s there to lift you up and out, to give you a life filled with love, peace, healing… but he can’t do it if you don’t allow Him in.
